before the last patch i would alt+f4 during the map loading screen if i would get river city night (because i hated night and thermal vision, fps problems).
i figured it was ok since my mech hadnt registered into the match yet. i would know that because when i would launch the game back up and come back to the mechlab i would see my mech as "ready."
today, i crashed to the desktop (happens since last patch) during the map loading screen but when i came back my mech was "in game."
i decided to check if it was a bug so i launched into a match with my spider and the pressed alt+f4 during the map loading screen --> came back --> spidy was "in game"

so something internal happened since last patch (obviously DOY DOY DOY).

i wonder if the devs did it on purpose because maybe, even though i thought i had not registered as a playing mech, in reality i did. and so maybe i caused quite a few 7vs8 in river city night. sorry if i did, but its not my fault that the heat and night visions were so horrible that i didnt wanna play them.

anyways, thoughts, expiriences and opinios are welcome.
also, now welcoming trolls and douches.

EDIT:
after having a real discussion in this thread, i have heard some pretty evident proof. i have now realized i was wrong all this time. i apologize to the community for leaving teams down one man.
wont be doing it anymore.

its not about losing or my mech dying. its about time. im a working student if im playing mwo it better be worth the time.
playing a map you hate that causes bad fps with ugly HV and NV is considered a waste of time in my book.

Your mech may not have been locked but you left your team one man down. I am glad they fixed cuz alpine and RCN were always mis matched teams. (sometimes 6v8)

jews too. (im one so its ok, dont get offended)

Sorry man this is how it should be. If you launch you need to play the hand you are dealt. Barring Black screens that is. You are being kept in game cause you are being penalized for exploiting the game mechanics.

Otto +100 for that Gif

If you ever dropped with a team on voice comms, you would know that you indeed ARE leaving your team short a guy by doing that...

It's been confirmed by the devs, I'm not trolling you and maybe you honestly though the matchmaker was pulling in someone else.....

But that's not the case and you've been leaving your team shorthanded.

You have 2 choices now:

1) keep doing it knowing you're screwing your team over

2) man up and play the map

Karma when I crash to desktop or freeze up at launch screen, my team on TS point out I am either there AFK or they drop one light, We don't need the DEVs to confirm you short our team by Alt-F4.

Yes, it is a well known fact that your method leaves a team a man down.

For a student your not to observant. Organized teams have had members at the very least crash, proving that it leaves the team down a man.

Humorous that you would argue this though.

Me thinks a troll
